Purvis Family Farm has been in operation since 1995 growing and selling only the best produce that one can find at your local farmers markets.  Located high up in the desert plains of New Mexico and on the outskirts of the town of Moriarty, farming had many unique and unusual challenges, but most worthwhile the endeavor.  After using the local farmers markets and local extension services as helpful resources, we found quite an abundance of information on native and non-native species of vegetables that could thrive in a high desert environment.

If you live locally and even if you do not, be sure to visit your nearby farmers markets. Not only do you put money back into your local economy, but you support farming at it's most basic roots. This is not to mention what interesting people and unusual vegetables you might come across. Get out there and enjoy!
